GMO ban goes to vote
Mendocino County, CA votes tomorrow on a measure that would ban the growing of genetically modified crops. I think I would vote against this. The totally unknown, and potentially harmful, effects of GMOs on ecosystems are a little scary, and certainly full disclosure should be required on packaging so that consumers know when they're buying GMOs. But Michael Pollan's book The Botany of Desire has convinced me that sometimes GMOs are the lesser of two evils.
